No. You must enter the current mileage of the vehicle to see historical mileage readings in our report.
The current mileage should preferably be a physical reading by you or from a trusted source. We do this in an attempt to stop any mileage manipuation being entered before the mileage discrepancy check has run.
By law, when a vehicle undergoes an MOT test the engineer will record the mileage of the vehicle during the test. This means that for each year if the vehicle requires an MOT, the mileage will be recorded.
Before buying a second-hand car you will want to undergo a few checks first, including checking the car mileage history. This is really important as it will give you an insight into how many miles the car has done before even looking at it. You can also use it to gain a good understanding of how long the car might last and if it’s worth the money.
